Day 41

Its been damn near 6 weeks.

She’s grown and changed so much.  She smiles now.  She sleeps longer.  She reacts to faces and voices and different people.  She’s, right now, sleeping upright in a Boppy pillow while M and I sing to her.  Its almost bed time, and we’ll change and feed her before nodding off.

Maternity leave is coming to an end.  I dont know if I’ll be at work on this Monday or on Dec. 6.  That’s up to the leave board.

Every now and then I remember that I havent always been a mother, and this hasnt always been my life… and I’m glad it is now.  🙂

More to come later.

So yes, we’re having a girl!  Picture below!

So there she is.  We’ve named her Julia and cannot wait to meet her.  Right now she’s breech, but also 10oz.  So I’m growing a big ‘un.  Hopefully that whole breech business fixes itself in the next 20 weeks… because if I wanna do this natural like, that’s not gonna work out.

My whole family was both excited and surprised.  Everyone thought she was gonna be a boy.

😀

I am so grateful I have been given another day to be your mother, Julia.  And I cant wait to meet you.

😀

Yesterday’s NT test went very well.  Doc said everything was normal, but that the official stats would come from the blood testing people and then to my doctor’s office.  That was good to hear.

We also got some awesome shots of the sea monkey.  Apparently, it doesnt appreciate working with others, and this time instead of wiggling around incessantly, it picked a spot on its tummy and laid there.  And didnt wanna budge.  The lady would push down to try to get it to move to a different position and it would wiggle for a hot second, and nestle back in on it’s belly.  Now that’s my kinda kid!  Lol.

Enjoy the pictures, everyone!  And, as always, I am grateful that I have been given another day to be a mother.

I like laying on my belly, too.

Kinda looks like a little alien, right?

Go ahead and make that little fist!

Behold… a beautiful little sea monkey with a very strong heart beat and fluttering hands.  None of which you can see.  But you can see that it’s awesome and healthy and measuring very well (7w4d).  The ultrasound goddess said that if she had to bet, she’d bet that we go full term with this baby.  !!!

Anyway, behold!
